Moving away from creating stories and characters I've decided to work out some book covers, starting with The Wizard of OZ. This here is an attempt for a version intended for older readers, hence the darker mood.
This second version of the cover for the book has been thought in line with other cutout cover designs currently in publication. Good fashionable examples are the covers for John Green's books, such as The Fault in your Stars. I think this style of illustration and simple graphics would suit Baum's book well. It's fresh, and bold. It's a style that gives books a vibrant contemporary feel.
